Creating New High Schools to Graduate Students Directly into Healthcare Jobs

For too long, America’s education system has failed to prepare students for good jobs that don’t require a four-year college degree. Students are missing out on opportunities in high-growth industries like healthcare, where there are currently two million jobs available.

To help close that gap, Bloomberg Philanthropies is launching a first-of-its-kind initiative which partners education and health leaders to create new, healthcare-focused high schools in 10 communities around the nation that will graduate students directly into high-demand healthcare jobs. It’s a model that we hope can be replicated in other industries, as well.
